Using National Lottery Interactive

What are the times of operation for Online Play?

The Online game facility is available from 7am - 10pm each day for Lotto/ Lotto Plus and Daily Million/Daily Million Plus except during draw breaks.

EuroMillions/EuroMillions Plus can be played from 7am - 10pm every day except on Tuesday and Friday when the games close at 7.25pm.

Players can play instant games and have access to their account from 7am - 11pm each evening.

Does it matter what computer I use to access the web site?

The National Lottery Interactive web site has been designed to work with a wide range of systems while serving up a comprehensive and dynamic experience. Below are the minimum requirements we recommend.

What version of Flash Player do I need to play games?

To play the games, you will need the correct version of Macromedia Flash Player for your browser. Click here to download the latest Flash Player plug-in.

Do I need a high-speed connection to the Internet to play games?

A high-speed Internet connection will improve your playing experience, but it is not required. As long as you have at least a 56.6k modem and a good connection (greater than 40 Kb per second), you will be able to play the games.

Do I need a sound card to play games?

Although many games use sound to enhance game play, a sound card is not essential.

Can I use the browser "Back" button to navigate the web site?

We recommend that you do not use the browser "Back" button, because it may cause the browser to display out of date or incorrect information that will interfere with your game play experience.

Registering

Do I have to be a Republic of Ireland resident to open an account?

Yes, in order to register and create an account, you must be a Republic of Ireland resident.

Why must I register to play National Lottery Interactive games?

You must set up an account to pay for games and to receive winnings. Part of the registration process is to provide financial details to set up your wallet.

How old do I have to be to register?

To register, you must be 18 years or older.

What payment types can I use to register to play online?

A credit or debit card is needed to fund your wallet to allow you to play games online.

Can I add my mobile information later?

Yes, after you've successfully registered, you can add or update your mobile information by clicking "Manage My Account".

Do I have to add money to my wallet when I register?

No. However, in order to begin playing the games and to win prizes, you must add money to your wallet.

Can I remain anonymous when playing National Lottery Interactive Games?

When you register, we are required to gather personal information from you (for example your name & address, date of birth and credit card details). The National Lottery will not sell or distribute any of your registered information at any stage.

Playing Games on the Internet

How do I play a game?

To play games you must be a registered user. Log in to the National Lottery Interactive system, you will see a page with a list of games. Choose any of the games to play by clicking the "Play Now" link or to view more information about a game, click on the "More Info" link for that specific game.

What are the odds of winning?

As there are a variety of different play styles and prize structures, the odds of winning will vary from game to game. You can view the odds of winning and the maximum win amount for each game on the Game Details page.

I am having problems logging into the web site. What am I doing wrong?

There are several things you can check:

  1. Is your Password correct? If you've forgotten your Password, you can click on the "Forgot your Password?" Link, which will prompt you for your User ID and your Login Hint. If you answer successfully, a new password will be emailed to your registered email address.
  2. Is your User ID correct? If you believe you are entering the correct User ID, or you have forgotten it altogether, contact Customer Support.
  3. Is your Internet connection working properly? Try to log on to another website to see if you are connected to the Internet.

How do I know when and how much I've won?

For Instant Games
When you have finished playing a game, a message will indicate if you have won and how much the win was for. You will then be asked if you wish to play again. Upon answering the question, your cash balance on the upper right hand side of the screen will be updated to reflect the results of your latest play.

For Draw Games
When you have finished playing a draw game your ticket will be entered into the draw or draws that you had selected for the ticket. On the night of the draw if your ticket is a winner an email will be sent informing you to check your account. When you log into your account a notification will be displayed informing you of your winnings.

How do I claim my winnings?

For large winnings, a cheque will be posted to your registered address. Smaller winnings will be credited to your wallet.

Can I see a list of all of the games I've played in the past?

By clicking the "View My History" link at the top of the screen and then selecting "Game Play History", you can view and print your game play history for the past 90 days.

What is a pay table?

A pay table is a grid that lists the prize amount you can win in each of the various scenarios that can occur during the game play.

I lost my Internet connection during the middle of playing a game - what happened to the game?

The game will be marked as unfinished. You will be prompted to replay the game in its entirety when you log in again. You will not be charged twice for this game.

How often are the games updated?

The game library will be updated periodically.

Can my children play?

Like all National Lottery games, a player must be 18 years of age or older to play and claim winnings.

When I click on the 'Play Now' link, the Flash game does not load - I just see the game play results. Why?

National Lottery Interactive has a "Bypass Flash game play" option. Enabling this option allows people that cannot view or interact with Flash to play the game. Click "Manage My Account" and go to the Profile Information page. Scroll to the section called "Game Play Preferences." If the "Bypass Flash game play and just show me the game results" checkbox is checked, the Flash game will not load. Simply uncheck the box and submit your changes to load and play the Flash games.

I cannot purchase a Lottery ticket over €75?

We are very conscious of responsible play and for that reason we have set a spending limit of €75 per day for online players. If you want to play more lottery lines for draws in advance, we suggest you break up your lines and purchase your online tickets separately over a number of days. Can I play when travelling abroad/from another country?

In accordance with our terms and conditions players must be over 18 years of age and resident in the Republic of Ireland. Registered players may play online as long as it is lawful under the laws of the applicable jurisdiction. However, local laws in many countries do not permit sale or purchase of tickets for any overseas lotteries.

As restrictions vary and are subject to change from country to country, it is not possible to provide advice on any specific country therefore we strongly recommend players do not purchase tickets outside our jurisdiction.

It is important to note that it is the player’s responsibility to ensure they act within the law of the jurisdiction they are visiting and within our agreed terms and conditions. Failure to do so could result in plays being declared invalid and no prizes will be paid.

Setting my Account Preferences

What are spending limits?

Spending limits allow you to limit the amount of money you can spend in a given period (days, weeks or months).

What are locked games?

Locked games are games that you have selected to make unplayable for a defined period of time. If you wish to play a game that has been locked, you must either wait for the reactivation date or contact Customer Support using the details below.

What does "Allow my name to be used on the site when I win a prize" checkbox mean?

We like to congratulate our prize winners by announcing their first name (or preferred greeting if it exists), location and the game they played on the web site. If you do not want your name featured, make sure this box is unticked.

How do I close my account?

By clicking "Manage My Account" and selecting the "Close my Account" link you can begin the process. Any unfinished games will need to be completed and any wallet balance you may have must be withdrawn. Please note that when you withdraw funds from your account a cheque will be issued to you from the National Lottery.

Managing My Wallet

Can I withdraw money from my wallet?

You may at any time withdraw all or any Unutilised Funds from the Wallet in Your Player Account by following the relevant instructions on the "Manage My Wallet" section of the Website. We will then issue such funds to you by cheque, stamped "Account Payee Only".

I transferred too much money to my wallet. Can I cancel the transfer?

Once you confirm the transaction the transfer is in process and may not be cancelled. Please note that when you withdraw funds from your account a cheque will be issued to you from the National Lottery.

My credit card expired. Can I still play games?

As long as you have funds in your wallet you can continue to play games. However, if the card you've registered has expired, you cannot load additional funds to your wallet. To be able to load funds simply click "Manage My Wallet" and update the expiration date by editing your credit card in your profile.

When will money I've transferred to my wallet from my credit card be available to play games?

Once the transaction has been processed successfully, the funds in your wallet will be updated and available for game play immediately.

Will you send me a statement of all of my transactions?

No. By clicking on the "View My History" link at the top of the screen, you can view and print a list of your financial transactions within the past 90 days.

Credit Card Charges?

The National Lottery and most of the main financial institutions do not charge for uploading funds from your credit card to the Play Online wallet. However, it has been brought to our attention that some credit card providers treat this as a cash advance and charge accordingly. We suggest you check with your credit card provider prior to adding funds to your wallet.
