It was Waterford’s day in National Lottery offices when the Brady’s Quality Foods group came to Dublin to collect their Millionaire Raffle €1 million win. The group purchased their lucky Millionaire Raffle ticket in the Tesco Store, Kilbarry, Co. Waterford. The group brought family and friends with them to celebrate. The second Millionaire Raffle top prize for €1 million was collected by a Cork person on Friday last. That ticket was purchased in the Citywest Newsagents in Ballincollig, Co. Cork.
The Brady Quality Foods winning group includes seven winners, and they are as follows:
Joan Brady, Waterford city; Pat Hayes, Waterford city; Paul Beglin, Waterford; Richie Fitzgerald, Co. Kilkenny; Karl Hamm, Co. Kilkenny; Ray Hearne, Waterford city and Martin Walsh, Co. Waterford. In terms of occupations, the group profile includes a Company Director; a Sales Manager; a Meat Wholesaler and four Sales Representatives.
Brady’s Quality Foods has been in business for the last twenty-four years (since 1987). This particular group has played the Millionaire Raffle game for all of the previous draws, but this is their first big Lottery prize win to date. The group ranges in ages from 35 years to 60, and all but two of the group are married. Children from group members range in age from 2 years to 32 years. The group also includes two engaged couples, and there may be plans afoot for weddings in 2011.
‘I wouldn’t have described ourselves as lucky up to this point, but I think we’re definitely a lucky group now. It’s a bit soon to have plans made for this win but some initial ones include paying off the various bills and putting a bit aside for a rainy day’, said a delighted Joan Brady, of the Brady’s Quality Foods winner group, whose fiancé travelled to Dublin with the group to collect the big win.
