Lucky Tullamore woman May Lowry was on top of the world today as she collected a cheque for €60,010 in National Lottery offices this morning. May won the top snowball prize on the National Lottery’s TellyBingo game. The lucky ticket was bought in Dolans, Clara Road, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
May, who has played TellyBingo since it started, got the shock of her life yesterday when she realised she had won the snowball prize. “I was watching the draw live on TV yesterday, I was shouting at the telly hoping that number 57 would come out as it was the only number I was missing for the snowball. When it came out I was in shock, I couldn’t believe it.” said the lucky lady.
“I always knew that one day I would be here in National Lottery offices colleting a prize,” smiled the lucky lady.
May is pictured with her cheque at National Lottery offices in Dublin today. Her delighted daughters Jackie Quinn and Vivian Cuskelly joined her for the celebrations. May’s husband Phil, of nearly 60 years, was unable to join her for the celebrations today.
The lucky lady intends to keep playing TellyBingo in the future and hopes that she will one day return to National Lottery offices to collect another prize. May plans pay some bills and help out her nine children with the win. National Lottery good causes benefit from the sale of all National Lottery games, with one third of all sales (approx) going to fund Beneficiary projects around the country, as designated by Government.
Since the National Lottery was launched, over €3.6 billion has been raised for good causes. This level of funding has made a significant difference to communities, projects and individuals in the areas of Youth, Sports, Recreation, Amenities, Health, Welfare, Arts, Culture, National Heritage and the Irish Language.
