LEITRIM MAN GERRY DEVINS TAKES HOME €278,200 ON WINNING STREAK TV GAMESHOW
It was a winning weekend for Gerry Devins from Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim when he spun the Winning Streak TV Gameshow Wheel in RTE Studios in Dublin 4 and won himself a cool €250,000 instantly! Gerry had already won €28,200 on the other TV Gameshow games, helped on by TV Gameshow hosts Marty Whelan and Geri Maye, but it was the spin of a wheel that landed him the big prize. His total take home prize money was €278,200 in one of the biggest payout shows since Winning Streak returned to TV screens after its Summer break in September. Gerry lives a mile and a half from the famous Hill of Tara in Co. Meath for the last sixteen years. He is married to Siobhan for fourteen years and they have three children – Aimee (12), Leah (10) and Niall (5). ‘I really can’t believe this’, said a delighted Gerry after he had spun the wheel. ‘I’m going to put some of this towards the mortgage and clearing the bills, and would love to change my car. But the main thing is that there will be extra funds now for Leah’s care’, he finished. Gerry and Siobhan’s ten year old daughter Leah has Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus and is wheelchair bound. She was at the show and watched her Dad land one of the TV Gameshow’s biggest prizes. Gerry’s eldest daughter Aimee (10) was nominated for an award with Rehab for the work she does in looking after Leah. Gerry works as a miner at Tara Mines. It was Siobhan who purchased the lucky Winning Streak Scratch Card and Gerry put his name on it. He didn’t see last week’s show but received lots of calls telling him the brilliant news. Read More
