Champagne flowed at National Lottery offices today as a group of 15 colleagues from ITW MIMA, Waterford celebrated their EuroMillions Plus win of €500,000.
“We’re over the moon,” said group organiser Derek Gordon. “We’ve been playing EuroMillions together since it began in 2004. We’ve had a few wins over the years. The biggest was €2,000 just last year.” He added with a smile: “Next time round, we’ll be going for the big one.”
The lucky €36 Quick Pick ticket was bought on 23 April in The Corner Shop, Upper Yellow Road, Waterford City. The win will be shared equally. Each member will take home just over €33,333. Plans for the win include paying off some bills and buying new cars.
ITW MIMA is responsible for the manufacture of plastic goods and is based in Belview Port, Waterford City.
13 group members celebrated the win publicly. These winners are:
