A faultless round for Ennis Showjumping Arena

€90,000 grant sends Clare showjumpers leaping for joy

The scenery of Clare may well be breathtaking, but that’s no consolation for horse riding fans when a hard rain is driving straight through your jodphurs and your hands are so numb you can’t tell fingers from thumbs.

It wasn’t much of a leap to see how an all-weather showjumping arena would be a great addition to the area around Ennis. Both seasoned showjumping veterans and beginners would be able to benefit from the purpose-built facility. Junior and adult rider leagues, international shows and lessons for all levels can now take place in the comfort of a properly serviced arena.

At the National Lottery we supported the arena’s construction by part-funding a €90,000 grant. And now that it’s up and running, showjumping fans of all ages needn’t rein in their enthusiasm any longer.
